![]() I have been addicted to golf and its fundamentals since the early 80’s. I have been stuck in the 7 to 10 range for years and am always striving to get better. He has given me, with respect to this crazy golf game we all love so much, new hope of being a lower handicap. I feel so fortunate to have been introduced to Riley Andrews this past April. Riley Andrews and Elite Golf of Arizona is helping reach my potential in this game and they can do it for you. Understanding the game and playing well has always been very important to me. Lifelong friendships, business opportunities and health and wellness are just a few of the benefits I have received because of this great game. My journey in the game of golf has impacted so many areas of my life. When you are taught the mental/emotional side of the game, on the course, from a teacher that understands what it takes to play at a high level, golf becomes fun again!!! He teaches you how to stop thinking and start scoring which after all is the reason we play the game. After a period of range, short game and putting green instruction, Riley takes you onto the course and teaches you how to transition from instruction to performance. He takes what you bring (body type, age, flexibility, ect.) and begins to teach you why and how the body needs to function in order to consistently perform the golf swing. He is not a one size fits all instructor. We then established a plan on how to attain those goals. ![]() In our first meeting he wanted to know what I wanted out of the game of golf and we sat down and committed my goals to paper. One of the first things that impressed me the most wasn’t his desire to impart his wisdom of golf instruction to me. His ability not only to communicate, but demonstrate the simple yet complex aspect of the swing is the best I’ve listened to or have observed. My testimony is about what he can also do with a seasoned golfer (59), with years of bad instruction, in transforming my swing and understanding how to play the game on the course. By the way watch these juniors on the range, the future looks pretty good. They will tell you how great Riley and his team of instructors are doing with the future of golf. Look at the trophies, talk to the kids, ask the parents. My testimony to his ability as a teacher isn’t about the success he has with junior golfers. He said he would appreciate my testimony. ![]() It is not our wish to impart wisdom but to instead effectively change the fallacies that our students first come to us with.īy taking this approach to learning, the relationship between the player and the coach is strengthened allowing the improvement process to be clear and streamlined.Īfter working with Riley Andrews, for the past three months, I asked if I could help him get the word out about Elite Golf Schools of Arizona. ![]() From that point forward, the coach will help to hold the player accountable through the systems that will guarantee improvement. Based on this information, the coach and the player will build a personal improvement plan designed specifically for that player. We do this by sitting down with the player first to gain the understanding of where their frustrations are emerging from. Coaching, on the other hand, provides the student with a comprehensive understanding of how to improve AND demands the execution of improvement. Instruction provides the student with information that may look and sound great on paper but, effectively, it is not transferable to improvement. While coaching and instruction sound similar, they provide very different perspectives. Cheryl will clearly and concisely explain the necessary technique for success in each of these critical scoring areas along with the best training methods to keep you improving after the school ends.It is our view that coaching is more beneficial that instructing. These sessions cover chipping, green side pitch shots, distance wedge shots, sand play, putting technique and green reading skills. If you really want to lower your scores, the best place to start is one of our comprehensive short game schools taught by Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher and Mike Bender Golf Academy Director of Instruction, Cheryl Anderson. ![]() Most golfers waste more strokes within 100 yards of the hole than anywhere else. ![]()
